Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actress singer and former model. The actress was the co-star in Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain, and the lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6 Apollonia, a singer/actress christened by Prince in 1984, became one of many female musicians of the 80s who benefitted from Prince. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as a model and actress. In the late 70s she was a guest on CHiPS. In 1984, Patricia Kotero was chosen to play the lead lady in Prince's Purple Rain. Kotero then appeared in a handful of minor movies during the 80s (reportedly declining the opportunity to appear in the follow-up to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon) prior to settling for an evening-time part in the film Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia finally released her debut album in 1988, but her comparatively tame collection of R&B/dance songs failed to be a hit with the music-buying public and soon the album vanished out of sight. The singer remained busy (if slightly underneath the radar) as an actress during the following decade, appearing in small film roles on television and even issued videos for exercises.
