The Garena's Garena premier league (GPL) began in the month of May. The GPL is a pro online gaming competition that lasts over six months, and comprises over 100 games. The inaugural season of GPL will be an League of Legends competition which is comprised of six professional teams. These teams represent top players from different countries. GPL matches are recorded and broadcast live on-line with commentary, available for viewing on the GPL's official site. Garena Premier League 2013, that began on January 4 2013, will include two teams that are each made up of Taiwan as well as Vietnam. This brings the teams' total to eight. AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Taipei Assassins, and Singapore Sentinels are the teams. It is the Garena E-Sports arena, an arena for esports, was opened in November 2014 at the Neihu District of Taipei. The studio was constructed to house events like the League of Legends Masters Series, the world's top LoL Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau league. It was a spin-off of GPL. The first month of January in 2015, Garena launched Iron Solari League the first women's League of Legends tournament in the Philippines. It is a monthly event organized in the second half of every month. This event aims at encouraging participation by communities that are underrepresented and is open to anyone who identifies as such. Garena is not only a tournament organizer but also offline gatherings and social events that enable users to interact.
